Danilo Caccamese

Danilo Caccamese was born in Catania on October 13, 1988. Growing up in close contact with nature among the foothills of Mount Etna, he developed a keen interest in art and literature from an early age, interests he continues to cultivate today through painting, photography, and writing. He received his early religious education at the Salesian Don Bosco Institute, where he also completed his classical studies.

 

Having gained independence from his family, he began his academic studies in Literature in Catania, later pursuing his education to varying degrees in Bologna, Rome, Milan, Padua, and abroad, broadening his expertise from the artistic field to technical disciplines (Cinema and New Media) and introspective studies (Counseling and Philosophy). Maintaining a strong connection to the arts, the 2010s saw his literary debut with the publication of two books, recognition in several poetry competitions, and the organization of his first cultural events. In 2012, in Rome, he was among the earliest signatories of the Alienism Manifesto, an artistic and intellectual movement promoted by Vera Ambra and Giorgio de Cesario.

 

Having moved first to Northern Italy and subsequently to various locations abroad for academic and health reasons, he would live in several cities, leading the life of a wandering scholar (clericus vagans), learning from the places and people he encountered along his journey. Returning to Sicily in 2024, he decided to bring together his accumulated experiences by founding Greenstone, a social promotion association, of which he is currently president.
