I Edition

GREENSTONE APS presents Poems on Display, an artistic and literary showcase dedicated to the dialogue between word and image, poetry and vision, writing and matter, between above and below.
The initiative was created to offer poets, painters, photographers and artists a meeting ground where poetry does not remain merely a text, but becomes part of a broader work: a poetic-visual pairing capable of bringing together different sensibilities and complementary languages.
Each proposal must consist of one poem and one visual artwork. Participants may take part individually, if a single author creates both components of the work, or as a pair, if one author writes the poem and another creates the visual artwork.
The showcase is divided into two categories:
A. Poetry + Painting
for works composed of a poem and a pictorial, graphic or non-photographic visual artwork;
B. Poetry + Photography
for works composed of a poem and a photograph.
Works must be inspired by one of the four thematic sections of the showcase:
Visions of Fire
Visions of Air
Visions of Water
Visions of Earth
The chosen element should not be understood as a rigid iconographic constraint, but as an inspiring principle: it may be freely interpreted in its symbolic, natural, emotional, mythical, spiritual, everyday, visionary or contemporary dimension.
The finalist works will be admitted to the final exhibition, which will take place in Catania. During the final evening, the selected visual works will be exhibited and the finalist poems will be recited, according to the arrangements established by the organization. The finalist works will also be collected in the commemorative volume of the showcase.
Participation is completely free of charge.
The material must be submitted no later than 12:00 noon on 19 October 2026 to the following address:
greenstone@greenmail.net
To participate, applicants must download and complete the regulations and the form corresponding to their chosen mode of participation:

Poems on Display invites authors and artists to give form to an encounter: a word that becomes image, an image that responds to the word, a shared work in which the creative breath is embodied in matter.
